Developer building an online store on a laptop

A good Shopify developer in Lahore should give you more than a nice-looking theme. They should hand over a fast, mobile-first store with a clean cash-on-delivery flow, local payment options, courier integration with companies like PostEx, TCS, Leopards or Trax, WhatsApp order confirmation and basic SEO, all built to turn visitors into paid, delivered orders. In the Lahore market, most theme-based builds take 2–4 weeks, and the Shopify subscription comes on top of the build fee.

Shopify suits most Pakistani D2C brands that want to sell fast without managing servers, plugins or security patches.

Shopify Payments is not available in Pakistan, so card and wallet payments run through local gateways or manual methods. COD stays essential.

Build cost depends on the theme, number of products, custom features and integrations, not on page count.

Launch is the start. Conversion rate optimisation (CRO), order confirmation and return-to-origin (RTO) control decide whether the store makes money.

Before you pay anyone, look at their live Shopify stores, ask who owns the store account and ask what happens after launch.

You have the product, maybe a following on Instagram, and orders coming in through DMs that your team copies into a notebook. Then you search for a Shopify developer in Lahore and get quotes ranging from Rs 15,000 to a figure that looks like a car payment, and half of them never mention cash on delivery.

This guide is written for founders of fashion, beauty, baby, toys and electronics brands who want a Shopify store that actually sells in Pakistan. You will learn whether Shopify is the right choice over WooCommerce or a custom site, what a proper Pakistani build includes (COD, JazzCash and Easypaisa options, couriers, WhatsApp confirmation, Urdu and English), what drives cost in PKR, how long it takes, what to fix after launch and how to pick the right developer or agency.

Is Shopify the right platform for a Pakistani brand?

For most product brands selling inside Pakistan, yes. Shopify is a hosted platform: hosting, security, uptime and checkout are handled for you, and your team can add products and run discounts without calling a developer every week. That matters for a Lahore lawn brand that drops a new collection every month or a Hafeez Centre electronics seller with hundreds of SKUs.

WooCommerce and fully custom-coded stores still make sense in some situations. Here is how they compare for a typical Pakistani brand.

A simple rule: if your business is “sell physical products online and ship them across Pakistan”, Shopify is usually the shortest route to a stable, scalable store. If you are building a multi-vendor marketplace, talk to a software house instead. A good Shopify developer in Lahore will tell you honestly when Shopify is not the right fit.

What should a proper Shopify store build include?

Many quotes cover “theme installation and product upload” and stop there. That gets you a website, not a sales channel. Whether you hire a freelance Shopify developer in Lahore or a Shopify agency in Lahore, a proper build should cover the points below.

1. A theme chosen for your products, not for the demo

The right theme depends on your catalogue: a fashion brand with many variants needs strong swatches and size charts, while a skincare brand needs space for ingredients and routines. A good developer customises sections, colours, typography and product templates so the store looks like your brand, not like every other store on the same template.

2. Mobile speed first

Most Pakistani shoppers arrive from Instagram, Facebook or TikTok on a phone, often on mobile data. Your store must load quickly on a mid-range Android: compressed images, few apps, no heavy sliders above the fold. Ask your developer to show mobile speed tests before and after.

3. Product pages that answer buyer questions

Clear price in Rs, with any discount shown honestly.
Delivery time by city and delivery charges.
Size guide, fabric or ingredient details, and real photos.
Return and exchange policy in one or two plain lines.
Reviews and user photos once you have them.

4. A cash-on-delivery flow that reduces fake orders

COD is still the default way many Pakistani buyers pay. A proper setup keeps the COD checkout simple (name, phone, city, address) while adding checks: phone number validation, order confirmation before booking, and optional partial advance for high-value or repeat-return customers.

5. Local payment options

Prepaid orders cut return-to-origin losses, so you want to offer them. We cover what is realistically available on Shopify in Pakistan in the next section.

6. Courier integration

Booking each order manually on a courier portal wastes hours. Shopify apps can connect your store to Pakistani couriers so your team books shipments, prints airway bills and syncs tracking from the Shopify admin.

7. WhatsApp order confirmation

An automatic WhatsApp message after each order (“Please confirm your order of 2 suits for Rs 7,500”) is one of the cheapest ways to reduce fake COD orders.

8. Urdu and English where it helps

You rarely need a full Urdu version. English navigation with Urdu in key places (delivery and return information, WhatsApp messages, ad landing pages) usually works best.

9. SEO and tracking foundations

Product titles, meta descriptions, collection pages, alt text, Google Search Console, and Meta Pixel plus Conversions API set up correctly. Broken tracking means your ads optimise on bad data from day one. Our guide to e-commerce SEO services in Lahore covers the search side in more detail.

How do COD, JazzCash, Easypaisa and couriers work on Shopify in Pakistan?

Shopify Payments is not available in Pakistan

Shopify’s own payment processor does not support merchants based in Pakistan. That means you will use one or more of these options instead:

Cash on delivery: built into Shopify as a manual payment method. Still the main payment method for most local stores.

Local payment gateway apps: Pakistani providers such as Safepay, PayFast and XPay offer Shopify integrations. Depending on the provider and your merchant agreement, these can cover debit and credit cards, bank accounts, Raast and mobile wallets. Confirm with the provider exactly which methods are switched on for your account before you promise them to customers.

Manual JazzCash, Easypaisa or bank transfer: you can add a manual payment method that shows your wallet or account details at checkout, then verify payment before dispatch. It is low-tech but works well for advance payments on COD orders.

Watch the fee stack. When you use a third-party payment provider instead of Shopify Payments, Shopify adds its own transaction fee on top of the gateway’s fee: 2% on Basic, 1% on Grow and 0.6% on Advanced, according to Shopify’s pricing page at the time of writing. Manual methods such as COD are generally treated differently, so check the current terms in your Shopify admin.

Courier integrations

Shopify apps built for Pakistan connect stores with couriers such as PostEx, TCS, Leopards, Trax and BlueEx. A typical setup lets you:

Book single or bulk orders straight from Shopify.
Print airway bills and pickup load sheets.
Sync tracking numbers back to the order so customers get updates.
Track COD remittances and returns.

Compare delivery performance and COD settlement speed in your main cities, not just the rate card.

Local buyer behaviour to design for

Trust first. Buyers want a phone number, WhatsApp button, physical address and a real return policy.

Delivery charges kill carts. Free delivery above a threshold, or a clear flat rate, usually converts better than a surprise fee at checkout.

Returns and RTO are real costs. Every refused COD parcel costs you two-way shipping. Order confirmation, honest photos and accurate size charts are your first defence.

Sale seasons are spiky. Eid, 11.11 and new lawn launches bring sudden traffic peaks. Your theme and apps must handle them.

How much does a Shopify website cost in Pakistan?

There are two separate costs: the one-time build fee you pay your developer, and the running costs of Shopify and apps.

Build fee: typical ranges we see in the Lahore market

These are broad, conservative ranges for a professional freelancer or agency. When you ask a Shopify developer in Lahore for a quote, expect it to move with the scope factors listed below the table.

Type of buildWhat you usually getTypical range (Rs)Typical timeline
Basic theme setupFree or low-cost theme, branding, up to a few dozen products, COD, basic pagesRs 40,000 – 100,0001–2 weeks
Customised conversion-focused buildPremium theme customised, CRO product pages, courier and payment apps, WhatsApp confirmation, tracking, SEO basicsRs 100,000 – 300,0003–5 weeks
Custom theme or complex storeCustom-coded sections or theme, large catalogue migration, bundles, custom integrations, bilingual contentRs 300,000+5–10 weeks

What drives your build cost?

Theme choice: free theme, premium paid theme or custom-coded theme.
Number of products and variants: 30 products is a day's upload; 1,500 SKUs with sizes and colours is a project.
Content: whether you provide product photos and copy, or need product photography and content creation.
Integrations: payment gateways, couriers, WhatsApp, ERP or POS, reviews, loyalty.
Migration: moving products, customers and URLs from WooCommerce or another platform without losing SEO.
Languages: English only, or English plus Urdu content.
Post-launch support: one week of fixes, or a monthly retainer.

Running costs: the Shopify subscription

Shopify bills its plans in US dollars. At the time of writing, Shopify’s pricing page lists Basic at $39 a month ($29 a month billed yearly), Grow at $105 a month ($79 yearly) and Advanced at $399 a month ($299 yearly). Shopify sometimes shows different prices by region, so check what your own admin displays. Because billing is in USD, your PKR cost moves with the exchange rate and your bank’s international card charges, so use a card enabled for international payments.

Add a paid theme (one-time, if used), monthly apps (keep the list short), domain renewal, and payment gateway fees plus Shopify’s third-party transaction fee.

Most new Pakistani brands start on Basic and move up only when order volume makes the lower transaction fee on higher plans worth it.

How does Marksol build Shopify stores?

Marksol Creative Agency is a Lahore-based marketing and e-commerce growth agency at Big City Tower, Liberty Roundabout, Gulberg. Our Shopify and CRO service covers custom themes, COD and local payment gateways like JazzCash and Easypaisa, checkout and product-page CRO, and speed. We build with the ads that will drive traffic in mind, because a store that cannot convert paid traffic is an expensive brochure.

Shopify stores we have designed and built

Crema (cremapk.com): Korean skincare.
Rajput Emporium (rajputemporium.com): fashion.
MiniKo (miniko.pk): baby essentials.
Khaas Junior (khaasjunior.pk): kids toys.
Skin Store Pakistan (skinstorepakistan.com): beauty.

All five are live, so you can open them on your phone and judge the experience yourself. More work is on our portfolio page.

What happens when a good store meets a strong offer

In a 30-day Meta Ads sprint for a fashion and accessories store (20 September – 19 October 2026), we reached a 13.40x peak campaign ROAS on a “2 combo” bundle offer and 9.0x blended ROAS across three campaigns. The store tracked Rs 397K+ in revenue against Rs 44,100 in ad spend, with 146 orders and cost per purchase held between Rs 264 and Rs 313. The strategy combined offer and bundle architecture with broad Advantage+ testing. The main lesson: the offer is everything, and the store has to present that offer clearly. Read the full breakdown in our case studies, or see how we run campaigns in our guide to choosing a Facebook ads agency in Lahore.

Our 7-step process

Every project follows the same path: Discover → Research → Strategy → Production → Launch → Optimise → Growth. For a new brand, the Research and Strategy steps often connect with our GTM and launch service (competitor research, positioning and PKR pricing), so the store is built around an offer that can sell.

Need a Shopify store that actually sells?

Custom, mobile-first Shopify stores with COD, local payments, courier integrations and a CRO plan after launch.

How long does Shopify store development in Lahore take?

A theme-based store with a clean catalogue can go live in 2–4 weeks. Custom work, large migrations and bilingual content push that to 6–10 weeks. The biggest delays usually come from missing product photos, unfinished product data and slow approvals.

Here is the step-by-step process a professional Shopify developer in Lahore should follow:

Discovery call: agree goals, catalogue size, payment and courier choices, budget and launch date.
Store account setup: the Shopify account is created in the brand's name and email, with the developer added as staff or collaborator.
Theme selection and wireframes (week 1): homepage, collection page and product page layouts agreed before design starts.
Design and customisation (weeks 1–3): branding, sections, product templates, trust elements and mobile layout.
Products and content (in parallel): product upload, collections, size charts and policies.
Integrations (weeks 2–3): COD rules, payment gateways, courier app, WhatsApp confirmation, reviews and tracking.
Testing (final week): place real test orders on mobile, check emails and WhatsApp messages, book a test shipment and check speed.
Launch and handover: go live, train your team on orders and returns, and hand over all logins.
Post-launch support (2–4 weeks): fix issues found with real customers and start CRO.

What should you fix after launch? A Shopify CRO checklist

Once ads and organic traffic start coming in, the data shows you what to fix. Use this checklist in your first 30–60 days.

AreaWhat to checkWhy it matters in Pakistan
Mobile speedProduct and collection pages load quickly on mobile data; remove unused appsMost traffic comes from social apps on phones
Product pagePrice, delivery time, return policy and size guide visible without scrolling farReduces “price?” and “delivery kab tak?” DMs
OfferBundles, combo deals and free-delivery thresholds testedRaises order value and makes ad spend work harder
CheckoutMinimum fields, city list correct, phone format validatedCuts drop-offs and undeliverable addresses
Order confirmationWhatsApp confirmation running; unconfirmed orders heldLowers fake orders and RTO
TrustReviews, real photos, WhatsApp button, address, policiesFirst-time buyers need reassurance before COD
TrackingPixel and Conversions API events firing once per orderBad data means badly optimised ads
Search and SEOProduct titles, meta descriptions and collection text written for real search termsBrings free traffic that lowers your blended cost

Growth after launch usually comes from two engines: performance ads on Meta, TikTok and Google, and Shopify SEO for product titles, tags, meta and collections. Once sales are steady, brand PR and influencer partnerships can build the trust that makes every ad rupee go further.

How do you choose the right Shopify expert in Pakistan?

Whether you hire a freelancer, a Shopify expert in Pakistan working remotely or a Shopify developer in Lahore you can meet in person, use the same tests. A cheap quote that leaves you with a slow store and broken tracking is the most expensive option in the long run.

Questions to ask before you sign

Can you show three or more live Shopify stores you built, and can I place a test order on mobile?
Who will own the Shopify account, the domain and the theme files? (Answer should be: you.)
How will you set up COD, local payments and courier booking for my cities?
What is included in post-launch support, and what does it cost afterwards?
Will you set up Meta Pixel, Conversions API and Google Analytics, and show me they work?

Red flags

The store is created in the developer's account. You should own your store, domain and data from day one.
"Live in 3 days" for a full catalogue. Possible for five products. Not for a real brand.
Pirated or "nulled" premium themes. No updates, no support, and possible problems later.
Portfolio of screenshots only. If there are no live links, ask why.
A dozen apps installed "just in case". Each adds cost and slows the store.
No mention of COD confirmation, couriers or returns. They have not run a Pakistani store before.
No written scope. Get pages, features, number of products, revisions and timeline in writing.

Tip: Ask your shortlisted developers for a free audit of your current store or Instagram shop. The quality of the audit tells you more than any sales pitch. If you are still comparing full-service partners rather than just developers, our guide to choosing a digital marketing agency in Lahore may help.

What is the next step for your Shopify store?

If you are starting from scratch, write down three things before you contact any Shopify developer in Lahore: your catalogue size, the cities you ship to most, and how you want to take payment (COD only, or COD plus prepaid). That makes every quote easier to compare.

If you already have a Shopify store that gets traffic but not enough orders, start with an audit rather than a rebuild. As a Lahore team that handles Shopify store development in Lahore alongside ads and content, Marksol offers a free store and marketing audit, delivered on WhatsApp within 48 hours, covering speed, product pages, checkout, COD flow and tracking. Frequently asked questions

In the Lahore market, a basic theme setup typically costs around Rs 40,000 to 100,000, a customised conversion-focused build around Rs 100,000 to 300,000, and custom or complex stores Rs 300,000 or more. On top of the build fee you pay the Shopify subscription in US dollars, plus any paid theme, apps and domain. Scope, product count and integrations drive the final price.

No. Shopify Payments does not support merchants based in Pakistan. Pakistani stores use cash on delivery, local payment gateway apps such as Safepay, PayFast or XPay, or manual methods like bank, JazzCash or Easypaisa transfers. Shopify adds a transaction fee when you use a third-party gateway, which depends on your plan.

Yes, but not through Shopify’s own payments. Some local gateway providers that integrate with Shopify can include mobile wallets, depending on your merchant agreement, so confirm the exact methods with the provider. Many stores also add a manual payment option showing wallet details and verify the transfer before dispatch.

A theme-based store with ready product photos and data usually takes 2 to 4 weeks. Custom themes, large catalogue migrations or bilingual content can take 6 to 10 weeks. Missing product content and slow approvals are the most common causes of delay.

For most product brands that sell and ship across Pakistan, Shopify is easier to run because hosting, security and updates are managed for you. WooCommerce has no platform fee and suits content-heavy sites or teams with WordPress skills. The right choice depends on your catalogue, budget and who will manage the store day to day.

Shopify apps built for Pakistan connect stores with couriers such as PostEx, TCS, Leopards, Trax and BlueEx. These apps let you book orders, print airway bills and sync tracking from the Shopify admin. Compare delivery performance and COD settlement in your main cities before choosing.

You should. The store, domain and theme files should be created in your brand’s name and email, with your developer added as staff or a collaborator. Avoid any developer who builds the store in their own account and transfers it later.

Ask for live Shopify stores they have built and place a test order on your phone. Confirm they will set up COD, local payments, courier booking, WhatsApp confirmation and tracking, and get the scope, timeline and post-launch support in writing. Red flags include pirated themes, screenshot-only portfolios and promises of a full store in a few days.
